Boko Haram Can’t Force Me Out Of Office – Governor Yakowa

Gov. Patrick Yakowa of Kaduna State on Thursday said that he would not resign his position because of the spate of bombings by Boko Haram sect in the state.

Yakowa said this at the PDP National Headquarters in Abuja while fielding questions from newsmen.

The governor said that the state government was on top of the situation, adding, “let me say to you out rightly that I will not resign. There is absolutely no reason for me to resign.’’

“We are on top of the security challenges we are facing in Kaduna State,’’ the governor stressed.

He said that the state government was working with the Federal Government and security agencies to ensure the security of the state.

Yakowa, who visited the party’s National Chairman, Alhaji Bamanga Tukur, said that there was no part of the world that was not faced with security challenges.

He said that he was at the party`s headquarters to interact and consult with the party`s leadership as a loyal party member.

He said that his visit to the headquarters was to enable him understand of the party`s rules and regulations to ensure proper implementation of such.

“You can only do that if you regularly come to the party’s headquarters and interact with the leadership.

“I can say to you that I have benefited tremendously from the visit and I will come more often,’’ Yakowa said.

Earlier, Governor Aliyu Wamakko of Sokoto State, who also visited the leadership of the party, said that PDP governors were not at war with the leadership as was being insinuated in some quarters. (NAN)
